Persistent Lil Country Boy.

I do not write about my husband nor myself much...Usually my babies....but today seemed like a perfect day to talk about my hubby and I. Today marks out 3 year wedding anniversary and this March with mark 7 years we have been a couple. My how times flies. =]

Although we were high school sweet hearts.... I wouldn't exactly say it was love at first site...poor boy had to work for it haha....I rode his bus in kindergarten and sat with his sister believe it or not, but had not a clue who he was....I later moved and wouldn't meet him again till I was 15. It was then that he met up with my cousin at the fair I was at....again I didn't give the kid the time of day :( poor guy. He would have to wait another year or so....

Well a year or so later my car broke down....I was stranded at the tanning bed. I called my cousin and begged him to come get me....He said he was working but "a friend of his" was just getting off work and would swing by and take a look at my car....Well who do you think pulled in....That lil country boy in his jacked up red dodge. Here I am in sweat pants, no make-up, hair a mess, and smelled of a tanning bed.....hot mess.... I texted my cousin and told him he was dead! Oh and it got better....my car couldn't be fixed...now I needed a ride home....shit. Well of course being the well mannered lil farm boy he was he offered to take me home.... I swear if I coulda squeezed between the seat and the door I would have... I sat as close to the door as I could not making eye contact the whole way....he tried his darnest to get me to speak but only got a few short answers...he dropped me off and I ran inside.....

A few weeks later I was downstairs with some friends from school making our sectional shirts for basketball when my cousin came walking down the stairs and who do you suppose was with him...you guessed it. It just so happened my 17th birthday dinner was that weekend so I invited them both to come...of course he accepted. ;)

That night I got all dolled up and ready to head out...He showed up in his big old truck and asked if I wanted to ride with him....sure why not. As we were pulling out I realized I forgot my money and asked him to stop...he said not to worry about it, he had it covered, I was the birthday girl. I probably turned as red as his truck...no I'm sure I did...cause my best friend was in the back saying awwwwww.

Let's just say I started become just a little bit smitten. ;) Later that night he came back to my house and we watch, "Walk The Line." Later that week he asked me to come over to his house....I accepted. My best friend tagged along...she told me a 100x he is crazy about you....and I told her 100x yea right.

But she was right because 2 weeks later we were BOTH head over heels and on March 16th 2006 he asked me to be his girlfriend. Well actually it went more like this: Him: Sooo, um what do you consider us.... Me: Um I don't know (giggle giggle) How about you? Him: Boyfriend/Girlfriend Me: (giggle giggle like a moron) ME TO! What a charmer huh? But whatever that boy did worked because from then on we were inseparable and crazy about each other. We never spent a day apart.

First Prom.

On December 23, 2006, my senior year, we were having Christmas at his parents when his little brother handed me a big box. I was sure it was the purse I wanted and ripped it open....another box...really? I ripped it open....another box....by that time everyone was silent and staring at me....weeeiirrdd....I opened that box and there sat a little jewelry box...shaking at that point I pulled it out and opened it. There it was, a diamond ring, and he popped the question right there in front of his whole family.

Now here we are 6 years later with two beautiful boys, celebrating our 3 year wedding anniversary. I'm glad that lil country boy was persistent because I wouldn't trade this life for nothing. We may not have done everything by the book but it worked for us.

Happy Anniversary Matt. I hope you know just how much you mean to me. Your an outstanding man and father. Our boys have a wonderful man to model after. I love you....more.

Here is some wedding pictures for you all! =] Enjoy!
