Persistent Lil Country Boy.
I
do not write about my husband nor myself much...Usually my babies....but today
seemed like a perfect day to talk about my hubby and I. Today marks out 3 year
wedding anniversary and this March with mark 7 years we have been a couple. My
how times flies. =]
That
night I got all dolled up and ready to head out...He showed up in his big old truck
and asked if I wanted to ride with him....sure why not. As we were pulling out
I realized I forgot my money and asked him to stop...he said not to worry about
it, he had it covered, I was the birthday girl. I probably turned as red as his
truck...no I'm sure I did...cause my best friend was in the back saying
awwwwww.
First Prom.
On
December 23, 2006, my senior year, we were having Christmas at his parents when
his little brother handed me a big box. I was sure it was the purse I wanted
and ripped it open....another box...really? I ripped it open....another
box....by that time everyone was silent and staring at me....weeeiirrdd....I
opened that box and there sat a little jewelry box...shaking at that point I
pulled it out and opened it. There it was, a diamond ring, and he popped the
question right there in front of his whole family.
Now
here we are 6 years later with two beautiful boys, celebrating our 3 year
wedding anniversary. I'm glad that lil country boy was persistent because I
wouldn't trade this life for nothing. We may not have done everything by the book but it worked for us.

Post Wrap Up For 8/26-8/27!!

Excuse Me While I Cry Into My Ice Cream!
Well this post was originally going to be
all about my 4 year old, but just a few minutes ago my 18 month old went into
the bathroom and said, " I pay pay (pee pee)" and set down on his
potty and peed right away! Where the heck has the last 18 months gone?
Better yet, where has the last 4 years
gone? Tomorrow my 4 year old starts preschool! He has mastered his ABC's, can
count to 20 (he misses one number but all well), knows all his colors, knows
all his shapes, and can almost write his name (he can copy it). He has even
mastered buttoning his own pants, and putting on his seat belt (that makes my life so much easier.)
I can remember my long 19 hours of labor
and long c-section recovery with him perfectly. I was 2 days overdue and
decided one night I would just "dance him out." So I
did...literally...I danced and danced and shortly after midnight at 12:33 after
laying down my water broke. First
thought, "Matt's gonna be happy I just peed all over the bed." Apparently I was a newbie, but it dawned on me quickly my water broke, and I
jumped outta bed and screamed at Matt! He was a newbie to because he asked me,
"What do you wanna do?" Oh I don't know babe, lets play cards..... Um
HELLO! GO TO THE HOSPITAL....... Right after I panic, hyperventilate and almost
hurl.... K, Lets roll!
I do not know why I was in such a hurry
because apparently Ashton was not! Because after 19 LONG hours of labor I only
made it to a whopping 4 centimeters. At this point I was begging for them to
get him out! So finally, on June 6th 2008 they wheeled a mini elephant (me)
into the surgery room and at 7:06 p.m. Ashton James was born at 9 pounds 9 oz.
20 1/4 inches long. Um, thanks for the c-section doc!!

At that moment my whole 19 year old world
changed! Now here my husband and I are 4 years later with not one but 2
beautiful boys. So much has happened in this past four years, getting married (after
a 2 year engagement), having our second bundle of joy Easton Samuel, buying our
second home, starting my blog, getting ready to graduate college, and now
another milestone....my first born heads off to school!
So excuse me while I go cry into my ice
cream.... My babies are growing up on me to fast! I am not ready for this... :(

So yesterday I ran out of "smelly goods". I had guest on there way but I did not want to run to the store just for that. I have seen this floating around on the Internet for a while and decided to give it a try so I whipped up a quick batch and I LOVED it! It smelled wonderful and my guest loved the smell as well! It made my house smell so clean and FRESH! There are numerous recipes, all the same ingredients however. Here is the one from Fake it Frugal:
1/8 Cup of Your Favorite Fabric Softener
2 Tablespoons Baking Soda
Hot Tap Water - To Fill the Bottle to the Top

I had a little smaller bottle so I cut it in half. Shake the bottle well after adding all ingredients and go on a spraying spree! Ah, fresh house! Enjoy! Pin it if you like it!

DIY: Ice Packs
I have seen this floating around all over the Internet and had to try it for myself and of course share it with you all! How frugal because you likely already have everything on hand! Here is what you need:
Quart Freezer Bag ( I used the ones with the zipper. I thought they would hold better. )
6 Cups Of Water
2 Cups Of Rubbing Alcohol
Few Drops Food Coloring (optional)
Put the water and alcohol into the bag. I added food coloring to make them fun for the kids. Try to get the air out as best you can. Zip and freeze. Done! How easy! Pin it if you like it!
I saw one mom made fabric pouches to put them in. I defiantly think I am going to get out the ol sewing machine and whip some up!
FYI: The alcohol allows the bag to freeze but not sold so you can manipulate it. To cool. :)
Note: if they get to hard add more alcohol....to mushy more water. :)
