Hailing from Texas, the definition of spring is that
awkward moment between “winter” and “oh no, not summer!” That awkward moment
definitely does not last long enough because, before you know it, it is too hot
to live. Many of you may not have had the chance to actually do some spring
cleaning, so here are some tips for summer
cleaning. (If you have done spring cleaning, how about a post-spring
cleaning project?)
Declutter
your home! Before getting started with “summer
cleaning,” make sure your home is decluttered from bulky items, at the very
least. Tables and chairs that take up too much space in your living room can be
stowed away. Even small things, like magazines, can take up a lot of space.
Declutter and make this summer cleaning project easier.
Start
early. When cleaning with harsh chemicals, you will want to
do this with your windows open. That being said, having your windows open while
the awful Texas heat is beating down on you is not fun at all. Start early so
that you can avoid the heat. You will also have the rest of the day to work on
other projects!
Take
stock on your cleaning supplies. The last thing you want
to happen is, mid-clean, the realization that you’re out of wipes or bleach!
Prep your list of cleaning supplies! Write a list, find out what you have and
what you need, make a trip to your store, and begin your battle with dirt!
